The Met Dept. says that the sea area around the island will be rough at times as the winds can strengthen up to 50-60 kmph at times.
There will be showers at several places in the sea area off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle. Showers or thundershowers can be expected at a few places in the other sea areas during the afternoon or evening.
Showers will also occur at several places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Northwestern and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts. Thundershowers may develop at a few places in the Eastern and Uva provinces, the Met Dept. forecasts.
Strong Southwesterly winds can be expected over the country and surrounding sea areas at times as well.
