President Maithripala Sirisena’s brother and Chairman, Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT), Kumarasinghe Sirisena has vowed get full executive powers at Sri Lanka Telecom, SLT sources told Colombo Telegraph.
Kumarasinghe was appointed as SLT Chairman on January 23rd by President Sirisena, although he promised to end nepotism.
In the midst of a heated SLT Board meeting the Chairman has said that he will ‘talk to my (his) brother’ regarding this. SLT sources say that Kumarasinghe does not want professionals running things at SLT and is seeking greater powers to override such people.
