The motion was handed over to Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa this afternoon.
UPFA MP Bandula Gunawardena said in April that the opposition was planning to bring in a no-confidence motion against Karunanayake on financial irregularities. However, Minister Karunanayake challenged the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) several times to file the no-confidence motion that they were planning to present against him immediately.
Recently he said that he has no problem in facing a no confidence motion but the opposition should understand its role beforehand.
