A group called People's Media Center lodged a complaint with Police Head Quarters today (9), alleging that there is a conspiracy to murder former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
"Attempting to release LTTE terrorists, not taking legal actions against criminals, alleged murder charges, unusual behaviour of the Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe, recalling investigation officers who resided in LTTE friendly countries such as the USA and purposefully disregarding former President's security" were quoted among the reasons for lodging the complaint.
National Organizer of People's Media Center Nimal Weerathunga claimed that they expect to present written evidence as well as verbal evidence during the investigation.
Copies of the complaint have been sent to the President, the Secretary to the President and the Defence Secretary among others.
